Getting Started with OBS

This guide will help you correctly configure OBS Studio for use with your PORTTA DX20R capture device.


Step 1: Add Video Capture Device

  1. Launch OBS Studio.
  2. In the Sources panel, click +.
  3. Select Video Capture Device.
  4. Create a new source and click OK.
  5. In the Device dropdown, select:

    DX20R Video Device


Step 2: Configure Audio Device

HDMI Audio (from DX20R)

  1. Go to Settings → Audio.
  2. Under Mic/Auxiliary Audio, select:

    HDMI (DX20R Audio Device)

External Microphone (Optional)

If you are using a dedicated microphone, please select:

Ex-Mic (EX DX20R Audio)


Step 3: Set Recording Quality (IMPORTANT)

⚠️ Important:
To ensure the best recording quality, please make sure the following setting is applied.

  1. Go to Settings → Output.
  2. Switch Output Mode to Simple (if not already).
  3. Under Recording, set Recording Quality to:

    Indistinguishable Quality, Large File Size

    or any higher quality option.

Lower recording quality settings may result in compression artifacts or reduced image detail.

Additional Tips

  • Make sure the DX20R device is connected before launching OBS.
  • Check audio levels in the OBS mixer before starting your recording.
